How To Prepare And Paint Your Concrete
Cover it Up with Movable Parts
Boring, plain old concrete, it’s an eyesore, there’s nothing pretty and when it stains, it can make your home look old and tired.
This 50’s weatherboard in Mitcham, Victoria has an exposed aggregate driveway but the budget didn’t stretch quite enough for exposed aggregate for the blind side of the house and close line area. Today we are testing White Knight Ultra Pave in Black Hills, Concrete Etcher and Grip Additive to spruce up this tired old part of the house. White Knight Ultra Pave is a quick drying acrylic formulation with built in DuraTough® technology perfect for refreshing tired concrete areas.
Preparation
To restore this tired old concrete we mixed the concrete etcher in a large bucket and applied it to the surface. White Knight Ultra Pave® Concrete Etcher easily roughens smooth concrete surfaces for optimal bonding of paint. I’m not sure if any of you have ever used acid to clean bricks, it is quite a horrible job. Rest assured the White Knight Ultra Pave Etcher is: nontoxic, environmentally friendly and leaves no residue to damage concrete over time. After letting the Etcher do it’s thing for 10 minutes, it was time to get scrubbing using a stiff broom and then finally pressure washing the surface.
Let the painting begin
We chose to add grip additive to this area which is exposed to the elements. With our grip additive thoroughly mixed in it was time now to cut in edges and begin painting. We used an ordinary old paint brush and a polyester budget paint roller and tray to apply White Knight Ultra Pave. As far as DIY jobs go, this would have to be one of the most satisfying I have ever done. Seeing old concrete transformed into a new slick looking surface was amazing. The transformation is instant. Paths, driveways and backyards can often be overlooked, letting the exterior of your home down. These key areas are the first thing people see, but the last you’d think to renovate. Instead of spending a fortune on repaving, using White Knight Ultra Pave is a much more affordable solution which can look a lot better.

White Knight Ultra Pave products are easy to apply, durable and cost effective while delivering a professional finish. There are 6 tintable bases available and can be tinted to 1000s of colours. Incorporating DuraTough® technology, Ultra Pave paints are also tough and durable, delivering lasting results.
